Democracy Dies, as We the People Watch


Earlier this year Kelley Williams-Bolar, an Ohio mother, was convicted of a Felony for lying to get her kids into a better school. Williams-Bolar was convicted by a jury of using her father's address to claim residency status that would allow her two daughters to attend a higher-performing suburban school.

Williams-Bolar was put on probation for two years and ordered to complete 80 hours of community service. The conviction may threaten her ability to get the teaching license she was working on.

Last week a homeless mother was arrested for sending her child to a public school in an area where they didn't live! Tonya McDowell is being charged with first-degree larceny for stealing $15,686 in education funds from the Norwalk, Conn. school district. McDowell and her 6-year-old son don't have a permanent address, but split their time between a homeless shelter and a friend's apartment in Bridgeport. McDowell, however, used her son's baby sitter's address to falsely register him for a Norwalk elementary school. The babysitter, Ana Rebecca Marques, is also being punished. She has been evicted from public housing for her role in helping McDowell get her son into the school.

According to the Associated Press:
Education officials say cases tend to surface more when budgets are tight and in areas where there are significant disparities between districts such as in academic success or local income level -- particularly in wealthier districts near urban areas. That often means the districts in question also have racial disparities.

These two arrests are startlingly severe punishments for what shouldn’t even be considered criminal. Most families get the option to take their kids out of the school without consequence yet these two ladies get arrested? So is there one set of laws for rich white people, and another set of laws for poor people of color?

What an indictment of our society when bankers can take not only our country but the whole world to the brink of financial collapse, by committing fraud, and not one person is arrested! Yet we are going to arrest two African-American women of color for daring to try and make a better life for their children? Should those two women have known better than to overstep their place in society? Surely America isn’t going to criminalize two women for wanting more for their children than they had for themselves.

Yet we continue, in the 21st century to have two separate sets of laws; one for the rich, who grow continuously more powerful, and one for the poor and middle class who are systematically being driven to poverty, hopelessness, and degradation.

The rule of the few over the many has happened so often in our history that it has several names. Oligarchy is a system of government where the few rule the many. The rule of the few that are rich over the many that are poor is called a Plutocracy. Both of these are the direct opposite of democracy, the rule of the many.

America has become an oligarchy ruled by plutocrats, and never has the disparity between the classes been more apparent than today; in an America where a woman can be arrested, prosecuted, convicted, and sent to jail for trying to send her children to a better school. What more injustices must we as a people endure before we say enough is enough?

Our founding fathers were confronted with this same decision 235 years ago. What to do about a government that continuously favored the upper class while always disfavoring those of the lower stations who tried to raise themselves up...

Our government is becoming destructive to the poor and middle class’ unalienable rights to life, to liberty, and to the pursuit of our happiness. We as a people have an obligation to ourselves and to the other citizens of this country to either alter our government or to abolish it entirely if it has become destructive to our rights as its citizens. Out government exists today by our consent, not the other way around. It is time we take our government and our country back from the elite that have taken it from us.

Class Warfare: Republicans vs Republicans

This article on Parlemagazine.com is very intriguing and has gotten some airplay on some news stations.

What's interesting is that life long republicans are the ones that are starting to question the sincerity of the far right and their motivations. We all know they claim to be Christians, but like in the book of James it says:

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Their works are the works of Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, which according to Galatians 5:19-21 are the fruits of the flesh.

How then is it that so many Christians vote for them for no other reason than they claim to hold christian values.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

If it is so easy for men to deceive us so; can you imagine the false Christs in the great tribulation? We need to open our eyes and see which of our own elected officials have sold us out to those with money for no other reason than for more money in their own pockets.

The New Jim Crow, and how as Christians we should be outraged.

This article link was an article that I wrote for Parle Magazine in which I didn't emphasize the role which us as christian Americans can play in bringing about a change in what appears to be a systemic attempt to control not just people of color, as in the sixties; but the new second class citizens, the working poor and the middle class.

Those of us Christians who see the truth for what it is need to stand up now because the middle class is disappearing. Soon we will all be working poor. Going from pay check to pay check (if you aren't already) and when an injustice happens to you, once all your resources are taken, then who will fight with you to protect you after all your neighbors have been taken to jail, who will be there to join their voice to yours, and scream outrage at injustice.

No one...

No one will be there, but a vacuum, a void where your the working poor and the middle class used to be. In prison or moved to Mexico to work for dollars a day. That's right, I said we will be a third world country ruled by the super rich and if you're lucky you've immigrated to Mexico or Canada, and didn't end up in jail or prison for life. Anyone ever been to South America and seen the poverty everywhere staring at you in the face? America is getting there. We aren't educating our youth, or investing in infrastructure. We are building nothing and buying everything. How long can this last? All of this cannot be sustained, and we are doing it to ourselves. Voting for whoever lies to us the best while taking campaign money from special interests. We the people must fight these injustices being perpetrated against us. The era of an indignant government must come to an end.

The Obama Assassination- Exposing the Co-Conspirators

There are quite a few truths in this article, and I shudder at those here who do not recognize this. How can you say that this article is racist, when he simply is speaking the truth? He is speaking of racism in our governement and in the republican party and media, so of course it's going to seem racist when what he is doing is simply pointing out the racism that exists, but many have chosen (like an ostrich in the sand) to ignore it.

My fear is that our white brothers and sisters read this and infer a racism against them. But I do not think the author was thinking along those lines. We must in our writing remember to emphasize that our country is in the middle of a class war. The racism against black still exists of course, but there is a more incidious threat to Americans. The powers that be are attacking the poor and middle class of all colors, and yes a middle class is needed like J. Bowman mentioned, but the rich don't care if it's large or small here in the U.S. the laregest middle classes are appearing in China, and Brazil, and India. All three countries with far more emerging middle class populations than the shrinking U.S. middle class population.

We the poor and middle class are being phased out of America, and they don't care about the color of our skin (black, brown, or white). We as Americans need to stand up against injustice for all Americans, because if they can do it to one segment of poor and middle class then they'll do it to all the poor and middle class. We must stand against all injustice that is how we protect ourselves and how we win back America.

So you ask where is there injustice? How about economic policies that help only corporations. Tax policies that favor the rich over the poor. Tax policies that keep tax dollars in the coffers of corporations (49% of which pay no taxes at all!). Attacking medicare, head start programs, foodstamps and many other programs that help poor and working middle class families get a leg up. How about wages stagnating at 1970's pay rates while the top 2% have their wages go up 450% in the same span. Just to name a few.

These are all causes for alarm, and they unite the white, black, and hispanic poor and middle class more than divide us.

BREAKING: House Republicans Overwhelmingly Vote To Kill Medicare

Yesterday April 15th usually known as tax day in former years will, this year, be known as the day the radical right wing section of the Republican Party finally pushed the Republicans over the edge to trip on the third rail of American politics.

Republicans, voted 235 for vs 193 against killing medicare for seniors in America. Although 75% of Americans are against changing medicare in any way, the Republicans following the Tea Party mantle, want to bankrupt seniors and have them either live on the streets or have them move back in with their kids. Before medicare 25% of senior lived in poverty due to the high price of private insurance. And all this in a bill that cuts taxes for the richest 1% of Americans!

The Bible says to take care of the widows and the orphans. It also says that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven. The Tea Party and the Republicans that are following them are trying to end this country as we know it. They want to give more wealth to the rich, while at the same time end the programs that help the poor. They are trying to send our country to hell! As Christians we cannot support a political party and ideology that goes against the very basic ideals of Christianity itself.

It is time that true Christians stand up for what we truly believe, not the Plutocratic and Oligarchical society that the radical (and increasingly common Republican ideology) is trying to convert our country and political system to. But a government FOR the people not against the people.

Wallsteet losing it's strangle hold on justice...We The People are fighting back!

Breaking news -- A Senate panel charged with investigating the financial crisis is laying blame right where it belongs: At the foot of the mega-banks that pushed shoddy financial products on consumers and then deceived Congress.  Goldman Sachs CEO Llyod Blankfein appears to have lied to Congress.  It's time for a criminal investigation -- and the powerful senator who chaired the panel agrees.

I don't know how many wallstreet traders claim to be Christians, but I know that most of the Republican and Democratic Congressman who supported the stealing of our tax payer dollars in the name of "Too big to fail" economics, have claimed to be Christians when running for office. I also know that one of the ten commandments was, "Thou shalt not Steal".

Wallstreet has been stealing from we the people of the United States for decades now, and they've been doing it with the blessing of congress. Backroom deals, campaign contributions through the roof (and anonymous) are ruining this country.

We as Christians need to make a stand for what is right in America. We can't allow big business to con and manipulate small towns and cities out of their tax dollars. We can't allow our congressmen and local politicians to grant contracts to their friend's company for kick backs into their campaign funds. This country was founded on Christian values and morals. Where have they gone?

It's now a left wing radical idea that people should eat 3 meals a day, have a roof over their head if they can't afford it, or have access to health care! How can this be in the richest country in the world?

We must stand up as Christian people against the corporate oligarchs, and the plutocracy that America has become. America must be given back to her people, and her people must get involved in order for us to take her back.

Exposing Glen Beck's Fraud on America

Today on MSNBC Martin Bashir commented on Glen Beck's callous lies about Planned Parenthood and those who use their medical services.

It seems amazing to me that anyone can hijack a religion and use it for their own political gains, radicalize it for their own agenda and have such a large and fervent following. If that sounds eerily like Al qaeda then imagine my surprise as I type this blog, the correlation between what the right wing has done with Christianity here and what the right wing Muslims have done with their religion. Food for thought.
